Production and Technical Coordinator

Griffin is seeking a dynamic and skilled Production & Technical Coordinator to support the Production Manager in the delivery of Griffin's productions

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Production and Technical Coordinator (full time)

Reporting to: Production Manager

Base Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 plus superannuation

POSITION OVERVIEW

Working closely with the Production Manager, Griffin’s Production and Technical Coordinator provides essential support in the delivery of the production and technical requirements of all Griffin’s Main Season productions and development projects, support for independent/external producers and jointly oversees the operations and maintenance requirements of the company’s performance venues.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Provide production and technical support to the creative and production teams of Griffin productions and Griffin’s Special Event producers and artists
  • Coordinate the technical bump-in and bump-out of Griffin Main and Special Event seasons
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of all technical and operational requirements of Griffin facilities
  • Provide production support and guidance to independent and external producers and artists, as directed
  • Contribute to making Griffin activities and operations more environmentally sustainable
  • Manage the day-to-day operations in relation to technical operations, maintenance of the venue, equipment and other areas as required following broad instruction from the Production Manager and Executive and ensuring all necessary processes are in place to deliver on that instruction

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated experience in production and/or technical coordination for a performing arts company or venue, including extensive technical knowledge in one of more of the following disciplines: lighting, audio, video
  • Knowledge of CAD/Vectorworks, QLab, Microsoft Office and other software essential to the delivery of staged works
  • An empathy and understanding of the artistic process together with the ability to work with creatives to realise their vision
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects involving multiple deadlines, budgets and stakeholders, an ability to prioritise and to remain calm under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate, support and manage teams of casual staff and service providers
  • Proven high level communication skills (written and verbal), in particular excellent attention to detail, strong negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety in an arts environment
  • A current Australian driver license
