An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Practical Arts (Media and Design) Technician. This important role requires a warm and welcoming nature, exemplary interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Flexibility with work hours may be required. This position is for two days a week. (An additional third day is required in the lead up and organisation of the end of year showcase in Terms 3 and 4.) Days and times are flexible and can be adjusted in consultation with the department to meet operational needs.
The successful applicant will be:
• Highly skilled, motivated and knowledgeable professional with demonstrated experience in Media and Design, including advanced post-production and editing using the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, Illustrator and InDesign. Skills in Photoshop and After-Effects are desired.
• Strong technical expertise in television and broadcast production, with confidence operating, maintaining and managing cameras, audio, lighting and studio equipment.
• Proven ability to manage production studios, department resources and equipment systems, including loans, storage, maintenance and record keeping.
• Highly organised and efficient in researching, sourcing, purchasing and managing materials, equipment and resources, and preparing student work for displays and exhibitions.
• Advanced IT and digital workflow skills, including Microsoft Office and accurate documentation, budgeting and administrative systems.
• Committed to supporting teaching and learning by working closely with staff and students, providing technical support, software troubleshooting, and project guidance.
• Collaborative, innovative and reliable team member who can also work independently, demonstrating strong time management, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Confident in organising, planning and coordinating the installation/dismantling of exhibitions and displays at the College.
• Professional, ethical and respectful in practice, with strong communication skills and a commitment to the Catholic ethos and Presentation traditions of the College.
The successful applicant will also have a warm and welcoming disposition, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability for self-directed work, flexibility, creativity and excellent attention to detail.
