We are seeking a thoughtful, relationship-driven person to become our next Philanthropy Manager. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone ready to step into their first management role, or to bring transferable skills from another field such as marketing, producing, partnerships or communications into fundraising.
Reporting to the Head of Development, this role sits at the heart of how Belvoir builds long-term relationships with the people who believe in our work. You will be supported to develop your leadership, fundraising practice and strategic thinking, while playing a key role in sustaining one of Australia’s most important theatre companies.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will:
- Build and nurture meaningful relationships with Belvoir donors, supporters and advocates
- Help grow individual giving across annual giving, major gifts and stewardship, with guidance and support from senior leadership
- Manage Giving Circles and relationships with donors giving $5,000 and above
- Create warm, memorable donor experiences including events, openings, rehearsal room visits and cultivation moments
- Lead Belvoir’s annual EOFY appeal and support donor growth across digital channels
- Work closely with colleagues across the company to connect donors with the creative process
- Use systems and reporting tools to support good decision-making, with training provided where needed
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is ready to take a step into people management, or to grow their leadership skills for the first time
- Brings relevant experience from fundraising, partnerships, marketing, producing, communications or another relationship-focused field
- Enjoys working with people and building trust over time
- Communicates clearly and warmly, both in writing and in person
- Is organised, curious and keen to learn
- Has an interest in fundraising and a genuine love of the arts and creative work
- Ideally has three years of experience in the arts, however if you feel you have to skills for the role, we encourage you to apply.
Experience with CRM systems or fundraising databases is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your interest in people, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to Belvoir’s values and work.
