As we continue to grow our impact, we are seeking a strategic and relationship driven leader to strengthen MAV’s philanthropic and partnership foundations.
Position PurposeThe Philanthropy, Donor and Partnerships Manager plays a pivotal role in driving MAV’s long-term financial sustainability and impact.
Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the CEO, this role leads the strategic development and delivery of MAV’s philanthropy, donor engagement, fundraising and partnership initiatives. It is an opportunity to shape the organisation’s revenue growth strategy, deepen high-value relationships, and secure sustainable investment that advances MAV’s artistic, community and organisational objectives.
This is more than a fundraising role, it is a strategic leadership position that strengthens MAV’s external relationships, builds internal capability, and ensures our mission is supported by strong, ethical and sustainable funding partnerships. The position is 0.4 FTE.
In this role you will:
- Lead the development and implementation of MAV’s fundraising and partnership strategy aligned to organisational priorities.
- Identify, research and pursue philanthropic, corporate and government funding opportunities.
- Design multi year strategies across major gifts, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships and sponsorships.
- Develop compelling cases for support aligned to MAV’s artistic and community priorities.
- Negotiate partnerships that deliver financial and strategic value.
- Monitor fundraising performance and contribute to revenue forecasting and reporting.
- Coordinate the research, drafting and submission of grant applications and funding proposals.
- Lead the development of high quality funding proposals, budgets and narratives in collaboration with program and finance teams.
- Ensure compliance with funding agreements, acquittals and sector best-practice standards.
- Steward funder relationships beyond acquittal through proactive engagement and renewal planning.
About YouYou are a strategic, relationship driven fundraising professional who understands that sustainable revenue powers meaningful creative impact.
You will bring:
- Proven experience securing philanthropic funding, sponsorships and partnerships within the arts or not-for-profit sector
- Demonstrated success preparing high quality grant applications and funding submissions, including compliance and acquittals
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to cultivate and steward major donors and stakeholders
- Experience managing fundraising systems and CRM databases, tracking revenue and reporting to senior leadership or Boards
- Commercial acumen with the ability to align fundraising strategy to organisational priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and presentations
- Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities with resilience and focus
