If you love the buzz of a major festival season and the precision behind great publicity, this role is for you.

About UsQueensland’s premier arts festival, Brisbane Festival lights up the city each September with extraordinary art, installations, and live performances from home and across the world. We are Boldy Brisbane – we reflect the diversity and unique voice of our river city. Our people make the impossible possible through passion, hard work, and care.

Position SummaryIf you love the buzz of a major festival season and the precision behind great publicity, this role is for you. You’ll help power Queensland’s premier arts festival by keeping media partnerships, press assets, famils and reviewer logistics running smoothly—so our stories land beautifully and our team can report with ease.

The Marketing Officer – Media & Comms works closely with the Marketing Manager to support the delivery of Brisbane Festival’s marketing campaigns and PR activity. This role is integral to executing media partnerships and leveraged advertising agreements, coordinating famils and reviewer programs, maintaining media monitoring and weekly reporting, and ensuring press assets and media portal content are current and compliant. Working closely with the Marketing Manager, you’ll also help manage the capture and distribution of photo and video content across the season, ensuring key moments are documented, supplied to stakeholders where needed, and stored correctly for future use. A key responsibility includes capturing PR tactics in the marketing base for streamlined reporting, along with purchase order and invoice processing to support marketing budget tracking and supplier management.

The role also provides administrative and reporting support and supports a program delegation.

Roles and Responsibilities

Execute media partnership and leveraged advertising agreement deliverables, including maintaining a deliverables tracker, managing deadlines, supplying assets, coordinating approvals, and ensuring all commitments are met.

Famil + reviewer program logistics

Support the PR agency with famil and reviewer logistics, including issuing invites, RSVP tracking, managing allocations, and liaising with Ticketing to coordinate bookings and access.

Media monitoring & reporting

Maintain media monitoring and update across teams in media wraps, including coverage log updates, highlights, and identification of issues/escalations requiring attention.

Press assets & media portal hygiene

Distribute press assets and maintain media portal hygiene, ensuring images, b-roll, credits, rights notes and usage information are accurate, current and accessible.
