Marketing Manager

Museum of Brisbane (MoB) is dedicated to celebrating the stories, places, and people of Brisbane.  As the City’s leading social history and art museum, MoB offers a vibrant, inclusive and dynamic program of exhibitions and programs year-round for locals and visitors to the City.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the ongoing amplification of MoB brand through design and delivery of marketing strategies, plans and campaigns.
  • Lead and oversee delivery of an annual marketing strategy in consultation with CEO/Director to achieve strategic audience development, brand positioning, and income generating objectives.
  • Oversee MoB’s digital platforms including MoB website to increase the reach and impact of our visitor experiences.
  • Implement market research as required with an emphasis on campaign effectiveness, visitor experience and consistent brand message.
  • Manage the relationship with external PR agency and drive media opportunities to ensure PR strategy is aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Liaise with Brisbane City Council Marketing and Communications teams to maximise campaign effectiveness and encourage cross promotion.
  • Manage the marketing and communications budget including relationships with marketing and media partners to ensure maximum impact and outcomes.
  • Take all safety measures when performing duties to ensure the safety of yourself and others, and comply with Museum of Brisbane’s Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies, procedures, and Government legislation.
  • Other duties from time to time as required.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate all or most of the following:

  • 5+ years experience in marketing in a cultural, tourism, not-for-profit or related organisation.
  • Proven experience leading, implementing and evaluating marketing and communication plans to reach and engage new and diverse audiences.
  • Superior storytelling and copyrighting skills, with experience in producing engaging content for websites, blogs and online advertising campaigns.
  • Strong relationship and team management, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience in editing copy as well as visual judgement to ensure the most impactful and compelling stories and imagery.
