Held annually in October, Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW) is the largest digital games celebration in the Asia-Pacific, featuring conferences, events and activities for the games industry, educators, games enthusiasts and the general public. In 2026 and 2027, MIGW will be delivered by ACMI.

About the role

Join ACMI as our new Head of MIGW and lead the development and implementation of MIGW. This includes developing ACMI’s MIGW strategy and evaluation framework and leading this major festival in collaboration with a range of participants. The role’s primary focus is relationship management, with responsibility for key MIGW stakeholder relationships including government, tertiary and industry collaborators, as well as management of a small team. This is a new full-time fixed term role until 30 November 2027, reporting to the Director of Commercial & Development.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Extensive major event or festival management experience at a senior level, with a track record of meeting strategic goals.
  • A deep understanding of the videogames sector and related trends and challenges, as well as strong sector networks.
  • Your flexibility, energy and passion for leading and mobilising stakeholders and teams to achieve collaborative goals.
  • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with a proven track record in strategic planning, review and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data, the development and monitoring of budgets, and reporting and evaluation.
  • Experience in leading complex projects including the management of resources, budgets, operational and work organisation processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills across a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Full-time fixed term role until 30 November 2027. Grade 5.2 role with a starting salary of $124,888 plus super.
