The McDonald College
Head of Dance

The McDonald College is seeking a visionary Head of Dance to lead its nationally unique Kindergarten–Year 12 Dance program.
Lead the Future of Dance Education
Are you ready to shape the next generation of Australia’s dancers? The McDonald College, an independent K–12 school in North Strathfield specialising in performing arts and elite tennis, with an equal focus on academic rigour, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Dance to lead our renowned Dance department.
As the only school in the country offering a developmental Dance program from Kindergarten to Year 12 within the school day, we are proud to sit at the forefront of performing arts education. Our Dance program combines rigorous technical training with artistic exploration, instilling in our students both excellence and resilience.
We are looking for an inspiring leader who brings creativity, industry expertise, and a passion for nurturing young performers. The Head of Dance will design and deliver programs that push boundaries, draw on best practice from across the global performance industry, and keep The McDonald College at the cutting edge of dance education.
You will work with a team of exceptional industry professionals and specialist staff, choreograph performances, foster strong connections with the wider dance community, and act as a mentor for students across all levels of ability and ambition. With a strong base in Contemporary and Jazz, you will also bring knowledge of diverse styles, audition techniques, and performance trends.
This role requires someone with exceptional communication and leadership skills, the ability to balance the needs of staff, students, and parents, and—most importantly—a sense of fun and joy in their work.
Applications close 4pm Monday, 13 October 2025.
