Graphic Design & Marketing Coordinator

If you love designing for impact, juggling multiple projects, and seeing your work come alive on stage, this is the role for you!

The Graphic Design & Marketing Coordinator will operate within the Marketing Team and is responsible for producing and designing marketing materials within AANT Centre’s brand guidelines and templates. The ideal candidate will be passionate about branding and marketing, possess excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and have a meticulous eye for detail.

The Graphic Design & Marketing Coordinator reports to the Head of Marketing & Communications and works closely with the Senior Marketing Coordinator and Digital Marketing Coordinator, as well as Printers/Artists/Hirers/Promoters/Agents.

Summary

AANT Centre is a Not-for-Profit Company Limited by Guarantee. Located in Darwin, it is known as Darwin’s premier live entertainment venue. Performances range from local school and small productions to international touring entertainment performances. 

AANT Centre also manages the George Brown Darwin Botanical Gardens Amphitheatre on behalf of the City of Darwin. This involves liaising with promoters, stakeholders and safely delivering performances at the venue. 

Key Accountabilities of the Role

  • Design and produce marketing and administrative materials for the business, including print brochures, programs, flyers, posters, and digital content across various signage touchpoints.

  • Maintain the integrity of AANT Centre’s brand and visual identity.

  • Ensure designs meet the brief prior to handover for sign off.

  • Manage distribution of marketing collateral.

  • Oversee the inventory, creation, renewal and installation of signage.

  • Maintain a database of contacts for targeted promotions and communication strategies.

  • Manage and lead communications with community/cultural groups and organisations and collaborate with target markets identified in the Audience Development Strategy.

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to roll out tactical marketing campaigns.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business growth opportunities including memberships and commercial opportunities.

  • Provide support and assistance in sponsorships and corporate partnerships activities.

  • Build knowledge and capability in the use of an applicable content management system (CMS) for website content management eg, uploading of events, imagery, documents, and updating content.

  • Plan, assist and attend trade and consumer expos as required.

  • Other duties as required by the Head of Marketing & Communications or CEO.

    Administrative

  • Provide accurate summaries and reports as required.

  • Provide timely production estimates and invoices to Head of Marketing & Communications, ensuring that all spend is within budget, approved and accurate.

  • Ensure the Marketing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies and procedures relating to the role’s duties are up to date and accurate.

  • Ensure documents are filed appropriately on the server, as agreed and set out by the Head of Marketing & Communications.

    Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications in Graphic Design and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro)

  • Strong understanding of formatting, design and print preparation.

  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging digital content, including short-form video and basic animations for social media and digital screens.

  • Creativity, initiative and self-motivated approach to work.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse communities.

  • Collaborative spirit and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

  • Proven project management skills demonstrating ability to manage many different projects, deliverables and timelines.

Advantageous Criteria

  • Experience with digital marketing tools, including, but not limited to: Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress), HTML

  • Experience working within, and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the arts, events and entertainment industry.

  • Digital photography or video hobbyist with adept eye for photos/videos.
