Centre for Projection Art

General Manager

Centre for Projection Art are seeking a highly motivated and driven individual to shape the future of a wonderful community arts organisation.

Exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual to shape the future of a wonderful community arts organisation.

ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND

Our vision is to incubate, collaborate, and create within and beyond projection art

Centre for Projection Art (CfPA) is an independent, community-based, not-for-profit arts organisation dedicated to the development and presentation of contemporary projection, light-based, new media art exhibitions, events and programs based in our offices at Collingwood Yards within the City of Yarra.

Founded in 2008 as the Gertrude Street Projection Festival, CfPA produces site specific projection art events featuring innovative works by professional, emerging and community artists. Our Masterclass’, Residencies, and Mentorship programs encourage skills development and experimentation that bring our community together by creating points of reflection and conversation through art in public spaces.

CfPA is in an exciting period of transition and there is enormous opportunity to grow and lead the organisation into this next phase through the expansion of existing programs, new initiatives and funding sources and leveraging well established stakeholder relationships.

ABOUT THE ROLE Working closely with the Board, the General Manager will lead the growth of the organisation through excellent governance, strong financial acumen, fundraising, strategic planning and creative ambition.

The primary purpose of this role is the overall day-to-day management of a community arts organisation and the development and delivery of an annual program in alignment with existing funding and sponsorship obligations, future opportunities, organisational strategic goals and an agreed curatorial approach.
