About the Role
In this role, you’ll lead NIDA’s core financial operations which include maintaining accurate accounts, managing month-end and year-end processes, ensuring statutory compliance, and overseeing payroll obligations. You’ll coordinate audits, track student fees, grant funding, and uphold strong internal controls across all financial activities. As the organisation’s systems and reporting expert, you’ll support ERP improvements, drive process efficiency, and work with FP&A to monitor budgets. You’ll also mentor a small team, maintain clear documentation, and ensure all work aligns with regulatory and WHS requirements.
About You
The ideal candidate will hold a relevant accounting or finance qualification and have at least five years’ experience in senior financial roles, with strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards. They will bring expertise in managing financial operations through change, overseeing complex budgets and audits, and influencing senior stakeholders. Advanced Excel and ERP/BI system skills, excellent communication, accuracy under pressure, and a commitment to continuous improvement and inclusive practices are essential. CPA/CA qualifications, knowledge of STP and Awards, dashboard development experience, and an interest in the performing arts or higher education are desirable.

This is a full-time 2-year contract.
