As one of Australia’s finest choirs, Adelaide Chamber Singers (ACS) has been at the forefront of innovative music-making for 40 years and plays a significant role in South Australia’s cultural life and beyond. ACS brings together superbly accomplished singers who pursue the highest level of musical excellence for their audiences, guided by an Artistic Director and occasional visiting conductors.
The position
Adelaide Chamber Singers is seeking a part-time Executive Director (ED) to provide strategic and operational leadership for the company. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Australia’s most respected vocal ensembles and to help shape the future of choral music in South Australia and beyond.
The ED ensures the delivery of strategic objectives, provides effective business management services, engages with both internal and external stakeholders, and supports artistic aspirations and growth targets. The ED reports to the ACS Board through the Chair, and works in close partnership with the Artistic Director.

- Strong experience in arts management, cultural leadership or a related field
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence working in a small team environment and reporting to a not-for-profit Board
- Demonstrated financial and organisational management capability
- A passion for the performing arts and choral music
- The ability to balance strategic vision with practical delivery.
Engagement : Part-time, 1-year contract, renewable (starting February/March 2026). 0.3 FTE -1.5 days per week. Annual salary (pro rata ) $36,500.
Location : The position is based in Adelaide on Kaurna Country and provides the flexibility to work from home with availability for regular in person and on-line meetings, plus irregular attendance at ACS events in different locations.
