About the Role
We are seeking applications for the full-time 12-month term role of Events Manager (Technical). Reporting to the Manager – Production Services, the main focus of this role is establishing and maintaining a single ‘point of contact’ to venue hirers and providing exceptional customer service and Technical/Production advice for the management and delivery of events.
In this role you will:

Client and Stakeholder Liaison – Act as the primary point of contact for hirers on all technical and operational matters pertaining to the event. This includes liaising with hirers, clients and stakeholders to assess and confirm event requirements.

Event Service Delivery – Manage and oversee event service delivery to ensure a client-focused experience. Coordinate production requirements across all Productions Services departments (Events, Stage Management, Audio/Visual, Lighting, Staging and Wardrobe) and collaborate with QPAC teams to ensure seamless event operations.

Communicate and negotiate production budgets and resources for event requirements with hirers.

Review post-event service delivery with hirers and provide feedback through formal channels.

Conduct venue familiarisation tours and technical tours for prospective clients including leading VIP tours.

Contribute to the strategic planning and growth of the Production Services Unit through management meetings, business planning, and industry networking.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:

Skills and experience in multi-venue arts centre with tertiary Production and Technical Management qualifications will be well regarded.

Extensive knowledge of production and technical requirements for productions within the live theatre industry, across all performing arts genres.

Demonstrated ability to interpret technical requirements, designs and specifications for productions and provide advice on the most cost-efficient methods to achieve outcomes.

High-level written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with a broad range of people.

High quality customer service skills with a well-developed internal consultancy style approach.

Demonstrated Technical management skills including the ability to plan and schedule human and physical resources.

Demonstrated ability to manage events and to prepare schedules, estimates and reports.

Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
