Content and Marketing Producer

Waverley Council is seeking a skilled Content and Marketing Producer to join our Community, Library Recreation Venues team on a fixed- term contract

About the role

The role will require you to:

  • Plan and implement creative, high-impact marketing campaigns
  • Produce engaging content across digital, social and traditional channels
  • Promote a diverse range of venues, programs, workshops and events
  • Collaborate with Council’s Communications team to ensure consistency and brand alignment
  • Create multimedia content that highlights the value and impact of Council facilities and services for residents and visitors
  • Support the Community, Culture and Recreation team in enhancing the visibility and reach of the programs that enrich lives across Waverley

Essential criteria

  • Current industry knowledge, relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in marketing, communications or public relations related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in social media and digital communications/marketing channels and designing, producing and evaluating assets that reflect industry best practice in a local government context.
  • Experience in producing outcomes across a range of subject areas including arts, culture, library or recreation areas with demonstrated knowledge in the creative industries and/or local government.
  • Experience in web content development and maintenance, as well as an understanding of Google Analytics, Campaign Monitor, social media, SEO and SEM.
  • Strong ability to write engaging copy for a variety of digital mediums and use of content management systems and image editing and design software
  • Minimum intermediate level computer literacy across Microsoft suite and databases.

 Desirable criteria

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Campaign Monitor, Brightsign and Statusbrew
  • Producing multimedia content, including live videos, podcasts and interactive digital online content using a variety of third-party apps
