About the role

Join ACMI as a Collections Technician and support digitisation, preservation, programming and innovation projects plus the ongoing management of the ACMI Collection. Reporting to the Time-based Media Conservator, the role also assists in the maintenance and storage of works as well as supporting registration and conservation activities This is a 12-month part-time fixed term parental leave cover position (30.4 hours each fortnight working Wednesday and Thursdays).

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Qualifications relevant to film and video preservation and/or equivalent training and experience working with audio-visual materials.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with analogue film and magnetic videotape formats, including safe handling, playback and maintenance of associated equipment.
  • Experience with or knowledge of film and magnetic videotape digitisation processes and digital video editing software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Well-developed administrative and organisation skills, including time management, attention to detail and ability to prioritise competing demands.
