Band 5 Salary Range: $78,456.56 to $90,192.96 plus 12% superannuation

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Collections Curator to join our Latrobe Regional Gallery Team.

About this Role

In this role you will curate and develop exhibitions and projects that showcase the permanent collection at Latrobe Regional Gallery and other Latrobe City Council Creative Venues, in consultation with the Coordinator Latrobe Regional Gallery,.

You will oversee the care, documentation, and development of the permanent collection and develop and implement strategies to expand and enhance the collection through acquisitions, donations, and commissions.

About You

For this role we are seeking someone with demonstrated experience in curating and coordinating permanent collections in a gallery or museum setting combined with a strong knowledge of collection management principles, including conservation, registration and acquisition.

You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Fine/Visual Arts, Curatorial Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in a gallery/museum environment.
  • Demonstrated experience curating engaging exhibitions within a collection catalogue.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and international contemporary art.
  • Experience with exhibition logistics, contracts, and agreements.
  • High proficiency in relevant software applications, including Adobe Suite and collection management databases.
