Qtopia Sydney
Chief Executive Officer
Qtopia Sydney is seeking a visionary leader to drive its next chapter
Chief Executive Officer Position – Qtopia Sydney
About Us
Qtopia Sydney is Australia’s home of LGBTQIA+ history and culture — a vibrant museum, cultural centre and community hub dedicated to preserving stories, amplifying voices and championing inclusion. Through exhibitions, performance, education, and community programming, Qtopia Sydney celebrates the resilience, creativity and activism of LGBTQIA+ communities while contributing to contemporary dialogue and social change.
As a not-for-profit organisation, Qtopia Sydney is focused on long-term sustainability, deep community engagement, and the continued development of its physical site as a landmark cultural destination.
As the world’s largest Centre for Queer History and Culture, located in the heart of Darlinghurst at the reclaimed former Darlinghurst Police Station. An ACNC registered charity, Qtopia Sydney brings LGBTQIA+ stories to life through world-class exhibitions, live performances, education programs, and community initiatives. Having established a remarkable foundation under its founding CEO, Qtopia Sydney is now seeking a visionary leader to drive its next chapter — expanding its cultural impact and education offerings; growing philanthropic partnerships and ensuring vital community stories continue to be told and celebrated for generations to come.
The Qtopia Sydney CEO role is challenging, energising, and deeply rewarding. It demands ownership of both artistic and commercial success, while offering the rare chance to lead a globally recognised organisation, working collaboratively with the Board and seeking guidance from Australian trailblazers and Qtopia Sydney Patrons Michael Kirby AC CMG and Ita Buttrose AC OBE.
