QUEENSLAND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA SEEKS EXCEPTIONAL CEO
Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) Board seek a Chief Executive, an inspiring individual to provide exceptional strategic leadership of Queensland’s high-performing orchestra, executive and administrative teams.
Led by a Board of Directors, Management and Chief Conductor Umberto Clerici, QSO is renowned for the quality of its performances of classical and contemporary repertoire that engage audiences of diverse tastes, interests and ages. From its earliest touring concerts in 1947 with 45 musicians, the company is now 80 musicians strong, performing hundreds of concerts to over 100,000 music lovers each year in Brisbane and regional Queensland.
The successful individual will be a proven executive leader – a credible and visible ambassador for QSO – maintaining robust connections and knowledge within the artistic, business, and government communities of Brisbane and regional Queensland, as well as corporate partners, donors and philanthropists.
Critically, the Chief Executive is an exemplary communicator, one who fosters an informed and effective organisational culture across all levels of QSO based on mutual respect, delivering excellence in all artistic, company and community outcomes.
Reporting to the Board, this leadership role shapes and implements the Company’s strategic plan and overall artistic vision, as well as maintaining and enhancing QSO’s ongoing financial sustainability, including revenue growth, audience development and retention, education outreach, community value and administrative functions.

This is a full-time position located in Brisbane, Queensland.
