We are seeking a dynamic, organised and artist-centred producer to join our Producing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with demonstrated producing experience who is ready to take on significant responsibility across creative development, production delivery and community engagement within one of Australia’s leading theatre companies.
Reporting to the Head of Producing and working closely with the Artistic Director and Executive Director, the Associate Producer provides high-level producing support across Belvoir’s Artistic and Producing departments. The role contributes to creative development, casting, rights and contract negotiations, budget management and community engagement, helping to realise main stage, touring and special projects from development through to production close.
As Associate Producer, you will:
- Liaise across Artistic, Producing and Programming teams to support the development and implementation of Belvoir’s season
- Support casting processes, rights negotiations, contracting and creative management through to production close
- Manage and track project budgets, supporting forecasting, reconciliation and financial acquittalsSupport creative developments, readings, commissions and special events
- Contribute to inclusive artistic programming and actively engage with diverse artists and communities
- Assist in securing and managing grants, partnerships and co-productions
- Provide company management support to ensure the smooth delivery of rehearsals and seasons
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has demonstrated experience producing or co-producing professional performing arts projects
- Is confident managing budgets and overseeing financial processes
- Brings strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
- Exercises sound judgement in a fast-paced creative environment
- Has a strong understanding of the Australian theatre ecology and the role of producers within a major performing arts organisation
- Is committed to inclusive artistic practice and community engagement
- Has a genuine affinity with Belvoir’s aesthetic, values and creative ambition
