Your role

We’re on the lookout for two Associate Data Scientists to enhance Creative Australia’s data and analytics capability by applying data science, machine learning, and AI techniques to real business and policy problems. This role is also open to graduates eager to enter the industry and build their careers in data science.

  • Developing and testing data science, machine learning, and AI solutions using Creative Australia’s data platforms, including Databricks and Azure-based services. 

 

  • Working with the Director Business Intelligence and Analytics on exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights that inform decision-making. 

 

  • Contributing to experimentation and proof-of-concept work to assess emerging AI and analytics capabilities that can enhance business performance. 

 

  • Contributing to predictive and advanced analytics use cases under guidance, including model development, validation, and refinement.

 

  • Collaborating with the Senior Business Analyst to understand business questions and help translate them into analytical approaches. 

 

  • Communicating analytical findings, assumptions, and limitations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • 2 positions available for a fixed term of 2 yearsOffice Location: Sydney, hybrid work arrangement (two days’ work from home and three days on site)

  • Salary of $89,522 per annum + 15.4% superannuation

Who you are

  • Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, and or equivalent experience 

  • Strong foundational understanding of data science, machine learning, and AI concepts  

  • Proficiency in Python for analysis and modelling 

  • Ability to quickly learn new platforms and ways of working in a dynamic environment  

  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and work well within a team environment 

  • Proven experience in effectively prioritising competing tasks and delivering outcomes within tight time frames 

  • High attention to detail and the ability to identify inaccuracies in data
