About the role: As the Arts Officer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the cultural landscape of our city. Working alongside the Coordinator Arts & Place, you’ll help deliver impactful arts programs—from the City’s celebrated Art Awards to inspiring Public Art initiatives.
This is more than project coordination—it’s about building connections. You’ll collaborate with artists, contractors, community groups, and internal teams to create experiences that reflect our city’s identity, spark creativity, and strengthen community pride.
We’re looking for a dynamic arts professional to support the Coordinator Arts & Place in bringing bold ideas to life—especially through the City’s Public Art Program, Annual Art Awards and vibrant Educational Arts programs. Your mission will be to take projects from concept to completion, energising the local arts scene with your creativity, coordination skills, and passion for cultural development.
You will bring a qualification in Arts Management, Visual Arts, or a recognised equivalent, plus hands-on experience in project management and delivering successful arts initiatives.
Your day-to-day will include:
-
Planning and delivery of projects strategically aligned to the City’s Arts and Culture Strategy 2025-2030
-
Involvement in the City’s Public Art Review Panel to support private developers to achieve innovative public art projects across the City.
-
Keeping key projects on track— monitoring progress and performance—reporting on timelines, budgets, and project milestones.
-
Creating clear, practical documentation—including risk plans and procedures for a broad range of arts development projects and initiatives.
About you: We’re on the lookout for someone who’s not just a great communicator, but a natural collaborator—someone who can engage with artists, audiences, and communities alike. If you’ve got experience in the arts or cultural space, especially in curating and promoting exhibitions and awards, and you’re craving a fresh challenge, this could be your canvas. The ideal candidate will have availability to work the required hours across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.
If your skills align with the essential criteria in the job description, we’d love to see your application.
