Lucy Guerin Inc

Artistic Director and Co-CEO

Lucy Guerin Inc is looking for an exceptional choreographer and artistic leader to join us as Artistic Director and Co-CEO – to inherit a company of distinction and lead it forward with their own vision, voice and ambition.

This is a rare and significant opportunity. LGI is one of Australia’s most internationally regarded contemporary dance companies, with a track record of 25 years of bold, experimentally rigorous work, a purpose-built home at WXYZ Studios in North Melbourne and a thriving community of artists at the heart of everything we do. The incoming Artistic Director will find a company in full creative motion – premiering major new work, touring internationally, and deeply invested in the next generation of Australian dance.

Some of the reasons you’ll want to be part of LGI:

  • A Co-CEO partnership model — you’ll share executive leadership with our Executive Director, with full creative authority and genuine organisational influence.
  • A community of exceptional artists — dancers, choreographers, designers and collaborators — who are deeply connected to LGI and invested in its future.
  • A dedicated studio home at WXYZ — one of Melbourne’s most vital hubs for independent dance.
  • A talented, committed team who bring deep knowledge and genuine passion to everything they do.
  • Strong relationships with national and international presenters, funders and collaborators built over 25 years.
  • An organisation held in high regard nationally and internationally, with an impressive 25-year history and which is genuinely excited about its future.

Access

WXYZ Studios is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us if you have any questions about access or would prefer to apply in a different format.

Equity and Inclusion

We are committed to equity and inclusion and welcome applications from diverse communities, including First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse, regional and disabled artists. To be eligible to apply, you must have existing Australian work rights.
