Shadow Resonance is a rare evening of irregular, intimate and unexpected neoclassical, ambient and contemporary live music.
Through the support of Maribyrnong City Council Arts and Culture, Shadow Resonance and Dawn Industry are proud to produce this special event for the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2026.
We’re bringing together five boundary-defying artists who craft moments of introspection, darkness and beauty. A world of live cinematic soundscapes and haunting melodies, where delicate strings meet deep, resonant drones and moments of quiet give way to powerful crescendos. Step into the shadows, and experience music that lingers long after the final notes fade…

Willebrant (solo ambient bass and field drone)
Beyond the Lake (ambient cello and guitar duet)
Minorarc (cinematic violin, guitar, keys and bass trio)
Emily Rosner (solo contemporary harp)
This event is a presentation of live music which is elusive and difficult to classify, yet also thought-provoking and familiar.
★ Shadow – Aligned with soundtracks used in cinematic productions, like layers of shade, the presented soundscapes will rely on atmosphere and tension-building. The artists curated for this event were hand-selected because an element of darkness and obscurity is highly prevalent in their works.
★ Resonance – The Bluestone Church Arts Space is both historic and naturally reverberant. Performers will be using instruments that can best reinforce and prolong the sounds of their melodies and movement. The emotive nature of their work has also been crafted to resonate with guests on a personal level.
★ Peculiar – The artist’s works lie outside the scope of commonly accessible music, so guests have an opportunity to be entertained by pieces rarely presented in a live context.
★ Freedom – An element of the unexpected and mysterious is prevalent in live music of an experimental nature. The liberty of the artists to explore their work in this format is tailored to guests seeking the experience of freedom and a focus on the present moment.
