High standards and choral versatility have proved the ingredients of continuing success.
In the past two years with the appointment of Musical Director Douglas Heywood, and accompanist Linda O’Brien, their repertoire has expanded greatly whilst still retaining its core of Welsh music. They are at home on any stage, whether it be at the Melbourne Concert Hall or the tiny Toongabbie Mechanics’ Institute in the heart of Gippsland and in 1997 toured South Africa for the first time.
Join Musical Director, Mitch Meyer, the first American-born memberd of the choir and a classically trained Baritone, as well as piano accompanist, Simon Walters, a professional musician for 30 years, for this very special event.
The Melbourne Welsh Male Choir has toured the world, including performing with Tom Jones and Dame Gweneth Jones at Wale’s own Cardiff Arms Park.
“They are nothing short of majestic. Their sound is as smooth as the green valleys of Wales.”– Herald Sun
“The best Welsh choir heard outside of Wales” – Alwyn Humphreys
