By popular demand, Grammy nominated Korean pianist Joyce Yang returns to Australia this May kicking off Piano+’s must-see 2024 International Recital Series featuring four of the world’s leading international piano Superstars.
Joyce Yang is renowned for her extraordinary range. Described as a “A knockout” by New York Times, she will perform masterful emotional works by Tchaikovsky (selections from The Seasons, Op. 37a), Rachmaninoff (Three Preludes from Op. 32 and 23) and Stravinsky (The Firebird Suite), followed by Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
2018 City News Canberra review Joyce Yang was astonishingly brilliant… She was able to draw ear-bending power from her instrument without it being forced. She was able to coax out the softest, most delicate sounds with the gentlest of touch. Everything in between was given the most expressive, sensitive treatment, with her entire body immersed in the music.
