Join artist and Chair of Writers Victoria Janice Gobey for a restorative and playful creative session that explores how poetry, dreams and memory can become powerful sources of visual inspiration.
Working with words, colour and image, participants will experiment with simple creative exercises designed to loosen the imagination and reconnect with intuition. Through writing prompts, visual exploration and guided reflection, Janice will share techniques she uses in her own practice to move through creative blockages and rediscover purpose in making.
This workshop encourages curiosity and experimentation rather than perfection. Participants will leave with new ideas, fresh visual material and practical tools for sustaining their creative practice.
Bring pen and paper to participate in the writing exercises and a copy of a favourite poem.
Note: All painting materials will be provided by Writers Victoria. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron as we will be working with paint.
This workshop is kindly supported by St Luke’s Artist Colourmen and Langridge Paints.
You will learn:
How poetry and language can be used as a starting point for visual ideas
How creative practice can be strengthened through shared community
How to draw inspiration from dreams, memory and emotion
How to move through creative blocks and reconnect with intuition
Playful approaches to combining writing and visual art
