Born in London to Portuguese and Italian parents, Dan Costa speaks eight languages, graduated from Berklee College of Music USA and has collaborated with artists such as Ron Carter, John Patitucci and Hermeto Pascoal.

Celebrated worldwide for his original compositions, Dan Costa has collaborated with artists such as Ron Carter, Randy Brecker, John Patitucci, Mike Stern, Ivan Lins, Dave Liebman, Hermeto Pascoal, Dave Douglas, Seamus Blake, Leila Pinheiro, Jaques Morelenbaum, Romero Lubambo, Ricardo Silveira and Roberto Menescal. He studied at Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in the UK, the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo in Portugal, Universidade Estadual de Campinas (São Paulo, Brazil) and Berklee College of Music with a celebrity scholarship for outstanding achievement. His music reflects his multicultural background as well as his appreciation of the natural environment, which has informed his artistic philosophy. It has been featured by DownBeat, All About Jazz, Jazziz, BBC, Sky News, Seven Network, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Otago Daily Times, La Repubblica, Al Arab and Rolling Stone, among others. A recipient of a Global Music Award, Costa has performed on six continents and his music has been featured by FOUR PAWS in support of animal welfare.
