Brown’s Mart Theatre Chair, Matthew Garraway, welcomed Hall’s appointment. ‘Brown’s Mart’s new strategic plan offers a strong roadmap for future development, based on nearly 50 years as a centre of community arts in Darwin. We look forward to seeing its continued growth with Sophia‘s experience and energy at the helm,’ he said.

Hall brings the significant management experience to the role, gained in arts organisations across Australia in many art forms and serving diverse audiences. Most recently Hall has served five years as Director of Programming with Queensland Theatre.

Hall is excited by the opportunity that Brown’s Mart Theatre offers. ‘As a cultural hub and central player in Darwin‘s creative community that stands proudly on Larrakia land, Brown’s Mart reflects the generosity, innovation and energy that infuse so many art, tourism and entertainment success stories from the Top End and I am thrilled to be contributing my leadership to the next part of this journey. I’m delighted to be working alongside Sean and the Board to continue offering a space for experiences which are engaging, thought-provoking and deeply rooted in the organisations diverse community,’ she said.
