Monica Davidson, Founder and CEO of Creative Plus Business, encourages artists to take the ‘ugg boots, jammies and chockie bickie approach’ to writing a business plan.

Be honest rather than worrying about how you would like your business to look to others. ‘This is what your business really looks like, how it actually works, not so you can submit it to someone else, but so you can use it as a tool to help you actually run your business,’ said Davidson. This is not a document that is about ticking a funding or a governance box. It’s okay to see the coffee stains on it.
