Federal Government injects further $35M; Support Act relief extended to all performing arts

Additional funding for Support Act and the Sustainability Fund hopes to keep the live performance sector afloat.

Today (10 August), the Morrison Government announced an additional $35 million in support for arts workers and companies, including $20 million for the arts charity Support Act and $15 million for the COVID-19 Arts Sustainability Fund.

Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP said: ‘This latest commitment brings our total funding provided to Support Act to $40 million, to allow them to respond quickly and effectively to the continuing needs of live performance artists, crew and music workers including sound and lighting technicians, managers, booking agents, promoters, venue workers and roadies still affected by COVID-19.’
