Melbourne joins Sydney in lockdown as COVID cases rise

NSW’s COVID-19 outbreak forces a lockdown extension and Vivid Sydney to postpone, whilst Victoria plunges into it’s fifth lockdown.

Sydney and Melbourne will both be in lockdown from today – the first time since the pandemic began that Australia’s two largest cities have simultaneously closed up shop.

NSW Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said Vivid will ‘only proceed if it’s safe to do so’.
