Artists campaign against racism

A group of arts and cultural leaders have called on Australia’s 45th Parliament to recommit to multiculturalism and diversity.

In an open letter published today, art sector members have called for Australia’s 45th Parliament to reaffirm its commitment to multiculturalism and reject racist legislation.

‘The recent election to the Australian Parliament of politicians who campaigned on policies that present a direct threat to the multicultural fabric of our country, is of deep concern to us,’ said Bong Ramilo, Executive Officer for Darwin Community Arts and a spokesperson for the group.
