Victoria has already established itself as the place for Australian startups with many global leaders in tech and startup investment setting up headquarters in Melbourne, among them Zendesk, Square, Slack and Cognizant. Add to this LaunchVic, the $60 million investment fund established in 2015, and the sector is reaping the benefits.

The second round of funding through the LaunchVic grant program has seen a total investment of $4.9 million allocated. The funding news has come with the announcement that leading accelerator program 500 Startups will soon launch in Melbourne.
