UTS Library Creative in Residence 2026 - Come play with us!

Believe us when we say it — we are not your regular library. Sure, we love books, but we also love bees, ghosts, and the occasional unicorn. And now, we’re on the lookout for our next Creative-in-Residence to bring something extraordinary to our world.

Over six months (April–September 2026), you’ll have the time, space, and support to develop a new creative project that connects art, community, and curiosity. Whatever you make — be it sculpted, stitched, sonic, or something we haven’t dreamed up yet — will become part of the Library’s living culture and identity.

You’ll receive a $15,000 artist fee, plus a $5,000 materials budget, and work closely with our chaotic (but well-intentioned) team to bring your vision to life. Expect plenty of creative freedom, a few eccentric collaborators, and a whole lot of heart.
