The Flush Project

The space is small. 

As small as a closet.

A water closet to be exact. 

The Flush Project is a call-out to anyone with a creative itch – seasoned or just starting out – to bring your flair to the most intimate of reflective personal space. Yes, the toilet cubicle!  

Make a small room that is usually just plain and functional into something unique and unforgettable. Take the humble cubicle and transform it into something immersive and unexpected.

Minimal or densely layered. Neat or gloriously messy. Serious or cheeky. If it matches the ground rules, it fits the brief.

The finished spaces will be unveiled with the opening of the Richmond Power Station in 2027.

Materials

Only re-used, re-purposed, bin-ends, second-hand, salvaged or found materials are allowed.

Fixtures

How these elements are incorporated in your design is up to you:

• Toilet
• Sink with mixer tap
• Toilet paper holder
• Soap dispenser
• Hand dryer
• Mirror

Flooring

Non-slip tiles, 600mm x 600mm (10mm thick).

Power

There are only two power points per space (one allocated to the hand dryer).

Lighting

Each space includes one recessed LED downlight. Additional lighting may be accommodated – please outline your ideas in your proposal.

Door

The door, door handle and lock/latch will be provided and can’t be changed.

Dimensions

Each space is approximately 1200mm (W) x 1780mm (L) x 2700mm (H). Some spaces are marginally larger.
