The national acquisitive Sunshine Coast National Art Prize is a dynamic visual arts award reflecting outstanding contemporary 2D and new media arts practice in Australia. Since 2006, the exhibition presents the remarkable finalist works by artists from across the country.

The artwork awarded with the Major Prize will be acquired into the Sunshine Coast Art Collection. The People’s Choice Award is also decided by way of public vote by exhibition visitors

All transit costs, nationally, are covered by the gallery and there is no additional expense to the finalists to get their work to the venue.
