The existing St John of God Midland Private Hospital (Perth), which is currently co-located with the Public Hospital, has been in operation since November 2015. The State Treasury has triggered their contractual right to purchase the Private Hospital function for use from mid-2026. As a result, St John of God Health Care (SJGHC) are now in the process of planning and commissioning a new stand-alone Private Hospital in Midland.
In line with the quality and standard set by all SJGHC facilities, the SJG Midland Private Hospital is intended to offer a unique destination for patients and clients from Midland and surrounding areas. SJGHC is committed to a service and facility which encourages innovation, collaboration, socialisation, and interaction. As a project of state significance, the facility is subject to Development WA’s Development Policy 4 Providing Public Art. The Policy requires up to 1% of the total development cost to be spent on the procurement of public artworks associated with the site.
This represents a significant opportunity to enhance SJG Midland Private Hospital through significant commissions, both stand alone and integrated with the built form.
This expression of interest is open to all Australian artists.
