Established in 2014, this much-loved community event brings the streets to life with food stalls, interactive lighting and world-class entertainment activated across Jonson Street and Dening Park (Main Beach foreshore).
Soul Street NYE is an accessible event utilising place activation, performance and participation strategies to manage risk proactively and mitigate potential harm from drug and alcohol-related violence, anti-social behaviour, crowds and traffic congestion.
This free outdoor event accross multiple stages includes interactive activities, art, food, play and music. It commences in the late afternoon on 31 December 2026 and is annually attended by up to 15,000 people each year with 5,000 attendees at any given time.
The contract to deliver Event Managementment for this event includes activities relating to the delivery of Soul Street including programming, planning, coordination, event management, event delivery services and event evaluation. The Event Manager’s fee will need to be inclusive in the overall delivery budget.
The Event Manager will be responsible for procurement, coordination, management, delivery and payment of contracted event services and equipment, including but not limited to:
- Entertainment and participatory events including building Aboriginal programming within the event
- Staging
- Security services
- Site management
- Food vendors and waste
Council provides a range of support for the event including Traffic Control and works closely with the contract Event Management Team.
