The artwork will contribute to the event’s vision of transforming underutilised laneways into immersive, culturally rich community spaces. Inspired by the theme of tapestries, textiles, and interwoven cultures, the piece should symbolise the diversity and interconnectedness of the local community while reflecting the celebratory spirit of Lunar New Year. 

Year 1- Korean-led Festival 

Each year, Lunar laneways will highlight a different cultural curator group. The firts edition in 2025 will be led by the Korean Cultural Centre, featuring programming such as gugak (traditional Korean music), K Pop and modern forms of Korean cultural expression. The commissioned artwork should acknowledge this contect and may draw inspiration from Korean cultural motifs, textile traditions, or aesthetics- while remainign accessible and inclusive for all communities.
