The Other Art Fair is coming to Brisbane – and we want you.
Not your typical art fair. A platform for independent artists at all stages of their careers, The Other Art Fair is where boundary-pushing creativity meets thousands of art lovers, collectors and curious first-time buyers. This 6 – 9 November, we’re bringing the Fair to Brisbane for the very first time, at the Exhibition Building in Brisbane Showgrounds.
As part of our commitment to making the art world more accessible, we also run the New Futures program, a special opportunity for first-time exhibiting artists. One artist will be selected to receive a free exhibition space at the Fair, along with mentorship and support designed to help launch their career.
The program is highly competitive, with only one recipient selected per Fair. We particularly encourage applications from artists who have faced barriers to traditional art spaces — including First Nations artists, queer artists, disabled artists, and those working in under-represented mediums.
To be eligible, artists must be early-career and based in Brisbane. Please check full eligibility criteria on our website here before applying.
