The Napier Waller Art Prize celebrates artistic excellence and the transformative power of creativity, while honouring the experiences and talents of current and former Australian Defence Force personnel.
Named after Mervyn Napier Waller—an artist and WWI veteran who overcame the loss of his right arm to create iconic works, such as the Hall of Memory mosaics—the prize reflects his remarkable resilience and legacy.
The Napier Waller Art Prize is open to current & former service personnel in the Australian Defence Force. The winner will receive a $15,000 cash prize & their work acquired into the Memorial’s National Collection. All shortlisted artists are eligible for the People’s Choice Award, which is voted for by the public. The People’s Choice winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000.
Entries in all visual art mediums are welcome, including (but not limited to) painting, photography, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, digital, decorative, and installation.
