We invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from artists and/or creative collectives who are interested in delivering creative programming at Woods Street Arts Space in Laverton.
Woods Street Arts Space is a multi-purpose creative venue for community groups and creative practitioners to host workshops, art exhibitions and other events for individuals of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Use of the space is free of charge for successful applicants.
If you have been looking for a space to deliver a creative program or workshop, develop a new artistic work, or host a community-engaged event, Woods Street Arts Space may be the perfect fit.
Examples of the type of programming we’re looking for (but not limited to):
- Low cost and/or free for participants
- Creative workshops and classes
- Creative developments with work-in-progress showing
- Children’s art-making programs
- Activities that help people in the arts develop their skills
- Creative projects that involve and benefit the community
- Live music or performance events
- Place-based installations with collaborative creation processes
- Artists-in-residence with a creative community outcome
Creative programming must reflect one of the following themes:
- Environment
- Social justice and inclusion
- Local place and heritage
- Local creative ecology development
The EOI must:
- Demonstrate clear process for community engagement and participation
- Demonstrate ability to effectively market creative projects to identified target groups
- Demonstrate capacity to deliver creative projects
- Include detailed budget outlining how funds will be used
What won’t be accepted?
- Proposals that do not address the themes identified
- Private business proposals or tuition
- Programs that have no community participation or engagement
- Programs that involve excessive noise
- Applications from artists/collectives that owe money to Council
- Large events

Expressions of Interest (EOI) can be submitted until 3pm on Friday 1 June 2026 via Smarty Grants.
