RWE Renewables Australia is inviting Expressions of Interest from Aboriginal artists to create an original artwork that celebrates First Nations connection to Country in the regions where we operate and generate renewable energy.
The commissioned piece will honour the enduring cultural connection to land and waters, reflecting stories, knowledge, and care for Country across time. The artwork will help deepen understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture and perspectives within RWE and the broader community.
The final artwork will be featured in RWE’s Reconciliation Plan (RAP) and displayed in a prominent location at RWE Australia’s head offices in Melbourne. It will also be featured in selected RWE materials, including digital and printed communications, reports, the RWE website, social media, and promotional items such as clothing or merchandise.
About RWE in Australia
RWE is one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, with a growing presence across Australia. We are committed to supporting the energy transition through projects in solar, onshore and other clean technologies.
We recognise and respect the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which we work. We are committed to engaging meaningfully with First Nations communities, and to fostering cultural awareness and inclusion in all parts of our business.
Artwork Themes
We are seeking an artwork that reflects the following themes:
- Connection to Country
- Caring for Land and Waters
- Community and Culture
- The Journey to a Sustainable Future
Artists are encouraged to explore the stories, landscapes, waterways, flora and fauna of the regions where RWE operates — and to express the deep spiritual and cultural relationships that First Nations people maintain with these places.
RWE Brand Integration
While creative freedom and cultural integrity are paramount, artists are also encouraged to consider how their work might visually align with RWE’s existing branding and colour palette.
RWE’s brand features clean lines, natural tones and blues inspired by wind, water, and sky—reflecting our commitment to sustainability and a clean energy future.
Incorporating complementary tones or elements that harmonise with RWE’s visual identity will help ensure the artwork can be meaningfully integrated across physical and digital spaces.
(Visual references to the brand colour palette can be provided upon request.)
