Board Director – Cairns Art Gallery Precinct (Voluntary)
The Cairns Art Gallery Precinct is seeking Expression of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join its Board of Directors.
As one of Australia’s leading regional art galleries, Cairns Art Gallery Precinct plays a pivotal role in showcasing the work of local, national and international artists, and in preserving and celebrating the unique cultural identity of our region. The Board provides strategic direction, governance oversight and stewardship to ensure the Gallery continues to thrive and deliver artistic, cultural and community outcomes.
Role of a Board Director
Board Directors Contribute to:
- Providing strategic leadership and governance oversight.
- Supporting the sustainability and growth of the Cairns Art Gallery Precinct.
- Advocating for the Gallery, within the community and across stakeholder networks.
- Ensuring strong financial, legal and ethical governance practices.
Desired Skills and Experience
The Cairns Art Gallery Precinct is seeking candidates who can demonstrate one or more of the following:
- Financial (Certified Public Accountant), Legal, Business or governance expertise.
- Experience in arts, culture, or heritage sectors.
- Experience with Heritage and Architectural Design.
Eligibility
Applicants should have proven experience at a senior professional level, a genuine interest in the arts, and the capacity to actively contribute to Board responsibilities. The positions are open to suitably qualified applicants from across Australia. Meetings can be attended remotely, with the expectation that Board Directors attend in-person meetings when requested.
