This project intends to create a permanent installation at the corner of Templeton Street and Frederick Street in Castlemaine, Victoria. The artwork will mark a moment of arrival at the northern entryway to the Frederick Street and Mechanics Lane redevelopment.
This installation will respond to the theme ‘Threshold’ – marking a place of arrival, movement and connection. The artwork may be freestanding or integrated into a kerbside parklet and is intended to be experienced as people move through and pause in the space.

No artwork proposal is required at this stage. Shortlisted artists will be invited to respond to a full brief and confirmed budget at the next stage of application.
