Edenhope Artist Residency is a local artist-run small business in Edenhope, Victoria, Australia.

The residency program is open to all types of artists, scientists, makers, designers, and educators looking for time and space to work on their own projects in an open-plan studio space. Activities held at EAR include workshops open to the local community, artist talks, and pop-up exhibitions and performances. EAR aims to engage international and local Australian artists interested in experiencing a new location with stays between 1 and 3 months.

Our lake view house and studio space in the centre of town currently accommodates up to 4 artists at a time.

The goal of EAR is to provide a positive and productive location for artists from all over the world to come and stay and create new work and networks. While artists are in residence there are no creative expectations but are invited to participate in an artist talk/presentation once a month which are private events but occasionally community members may be invited to attend.

We also hold Open Days on a monthly basis where members of the public are able to visit the studio spaces. Artists are also encouraged to exhibit their work during their stay, if they wish and this can be arranged on an individual basis. There are several locations around town that may be utilised upon arrangement.

Artists have 24 hour access to the studio building attached to the artist house. The studio is a shared space with each artist working at their own station equipped with a work table, shelving, lighting, easel, wall space, power and internet.

The studio has air conditioning/heating, hot and cold water, direct access to the garden, a separate street entrance and a private entrance to the house. A conference room/library space also serves as a writers room separate to the studio. We also welcome artists that do not require the use of a studio space and wish to focus on other projects.

The house accommodates up to four artists at a time, each in a private room. Kitchen, laundry and living spaces are shared and there are two shared bathrooms and two toilets. The house is available for the exclusive use of resident artists and is located in the centre of town close to shops and the pub. Across the road is Lake Wallace, with a 5km walking track around it and barbecue facilities.

Applications will be accepted for residencies of 1 to 3 months duration and we look forward to meeting artists from all over the world.  Applications can be made at any time and we endeavour to let you know the outcome of your application within 2-4 weeks. You can apply up to 18 months in advance.
