Do you have a creative concept that you want to bring to life?

We’re looking for striking artworks and projects from local artists, curators and other creatives that respond to the unique characteristics of the wider Oxford Street precinct as part of our Art & About 2026 program. Indoor and outdoor works will be selected, and they can take a variety of different artforms:

Outdoor works – visually exciting and high-impact. Works can be installations, static, have moving parts or incorporate light, sound, video and digital technology. Potential sites include Taylor Square and Oxford Square.

Indoor works – suggested artforms include theatre, dance, performances, comedy, workshops and exhibitions. These will be displayed at East Sydney Community Arts Centre and Darlinghurst Community Space.

Once submitted, we will review each proposal, and projects of all budgets will be considered. Selected applicants will receive funding support as well as guidance, practical support and promotion to help realise their vision and connect with wide audiences. Selected projects will be presented from 23 to 25 October 2026.

This is a great opportunity to have your work seen by the public in an iconic location. We encourage you to attend our online information session from 2pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 October to learn more about this opportunity.

If you would like to attend, please email artandabout@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.

Applications close at 5pm Wednesday 12 November. Apply here.
