In recognition of International Day of People with Disability, applications are now open for this exciting opportunity.
We’re able to offer this commission to an experienced dance or movement artist who identifies as Deaf or Disabled to create a brand-new work that responds to the creative provocation of ‘Radical Access’ and is a force for increased accessibility in the arts sector. The work will be presented as part of the 2023 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
On top of the $40k, the successful recipient will also get studio space at Chunky Move, production, marketing and producing support, dedicated access funds and artistic mentorship and guidance from Michelle Ryan (Artistic Director of Restless Dance Theatre) and Antony Hamilton (Artistic Director of Chunky Move).
