Camerata’s Emerging Composer-in-Residence program began in 2015 as a regional touring commission where an emerging composer was invited to compose a piece of music inspired by a regional area through which Camerata was touring. The program has included composers such as Christopher Healey, Connor D’Netto, Michael Patterson, Isabella Gerometta, John Rotar, Ray Lin, Alexandra Mison and, in 2025, Abigail Lui.
Since then, the program has grown into a residency centred around the regional touring commission work. Applications are now open for emerging or early career composers that are from or will be based in Queensland in 2026.
Applications close Monday, 29 September 2025, 11:59pm.
