Matthew Bolliger runs string instrument crafting shop Violins by the Sea, and has gained extensive experience using techniques learned while studying in Australia and abroad.

With his violin studio based in Newport, Northern Sydney, the violin crafter has international pedigree. He learnt the craft at a tender 17 years old from Australian violin maker C. A. Vatiliotis, and during five years under his mentorship developed a repertoire for building violins, violas (both baroque and modern), cellos, classical guitars, mandolins, and a bass viol.
